Why Write An ASME Paper?
This is an important question and the answer is equally important. Writing a paper for an ASME publication can be of great personal and professional value to you, your company or university, and your engineering community. The benefits include:

  • archival record
  • recognition by your peers
  • international exposure of your paper and achievements through distribution in both paper and digital formats
  • consideration for divisional and society honors and awards
  • promotion on and in all related media (conference programs, marketing brochures and mailers, etc.)

Description of an ASME Paper
An ASME paper should be clear, concise, and complete, with assumptions plainly identified and data presented (including their uncertainty) with precise logic, with relevance to practices described, and with actual accomplishments of the work clearly stated and honestly appraised. It should be technically sound and free from personalities or bias, especially of a commercial nature.
